Dreaming of a Tidy Home

Dreaming of a Tidy Home

My Home Isn’t Always Tidy
When my oldest child was born a little over a decade ago, folks would tell me to let household chores go and focus on my baby. To some extent, I did that: napping while the baby napped, getting some help in the home and letting our living room become overrun with plastic toys.
Truth be told, I always felt conflicted about this advice to “let things go a bit”. Not surprisingly, I thrive in a clean and organized home. The days our home would get dirty and cluttered, I felt lousy and wasn’t a very good mother to the kids. Of course, there’s a balance to be found. When our children where preschoolers, I struggled to find that balance.
Now that our kids are older, it’s definitely easier to maintain a clean and organized home. By doing so, we hope to create a sense of ease, peace and comfort. In the last few months, I have been involving the children more and more in daily household tasks. As a result, I also have a renewed enthusiasm for the routines that keep it all together.
Maintaining a clean and organized home doesn’t need to take a lot of time or effort. It’s mostly about daily small actions that add up to big results. Keep reading the blog for more tips on how to do this and head over to Instagram where I share photos as well as Insta Stories (you might need the app for this) from my daily life.
As always, I’d love to hear your tips to keeping a tidy home in the comments below.
All my best,
