That brings us to our new normal. We are staying home. I am attempting to continue my kids' education and keep some sort of routine.
Sometimes we just need a change of scenery. Most days I like to stick to my routines, stay close to home and do the usual things in the usual order. In January I both participated in and hosted retreats. The time away from my usual routines opened by eyes to new realizations.
For 2020, I would like to explore the possibility of finding an accountability partner or creating a small accountability group. Autumn is my most favorite season for all of the obvious reasons. Hello, cooler weather! And yes, everything is better with a bit of pumpkin spice. Fall is the time we prepare for winter, the cozy season. It's a time to come indoors again, to focus on our living spaces, to make our homes havens.
Time and again, the thing that gets me and keeps me in balance is maintaining a clean and tidy home. Our homes are our sanctuaries from the busyness of the outside world. When I am at home I want to feel peaceful. Things are a lot more peaceful with clean, clear surfaces.
