Last year at this time, I shared my fall favorites. The posts have been feeling heavy lately and I think it's time to switch things up with some lighter conversation to keep us in good spirits. Here are some fall favorites, that I hope you will find just plain fun.
The temperatures are getting cooler here in Michigan. The garden is slowing down. The days are getting shorter. Autumn is in the air. Transitions are upon us.
In response to my last post, many of you shared what is bringing you joy during these uncertain times. Some of you are taking regular walks: alone, with spouses and with family. Others are practicing yoga and meditation. And one of you mentioned keeping an organized financial life, along with a clean and organized home. These are all such lovely activities.
Here are a few things I am doing to get back on track and bring peaceful, calm energy to my family.
While things are still uncertain and sometimes scary, I feel less anxious in general. I try to find acceptance in our current circumstances. Acceptance isn't a passive "I cannot do anything" mindset. It's more of a "what can I do now" frame of mind.
Our little routines and rituals give us purpose, hope and a little bit of normality. The shock of our world being different is starting to pass for some of us. We are getting used to this new normal.
