Life Happens
With my new best friend at the park. September 2025.
Hello Friends:
I had not intended to take a two plus year hiatus from this space, and well, life happens. Life and death and moving forward always.
As much as I would like to tie things up in a neat bow, the truth is that things are never as tidy as I would like them to be. Since my last update in the summer of 2023, so much has happened.
I went from spending hours arranging the logistics of getting my kids two different places at the same time (thank you, carpool parents) to just this fall, the youngest being able to drive themselves. We are so grateful to our local mechanic in keeping the old car running smoothly for our kids to drive and humbly using as a family car as well.
In my last post I hinted at a new family member. After losing our beloved Golden Retriever to cancer too soon in March of 2023, we adopted a new puppy in July of 2023. One forgets just how much work a puppy can be. Even at two years old, this “puppy” needs to be watched like a toddler. The pup and I are having a lot of fun taking training classes and walks all around town. If you are local and would like to walk with us someday, please reach out.
And, there is sadness too. Late last year, my 90 year old mother passed away somewhat unexpectedly in her home. No hospitalizations, no major illness; but in retrospect, a few months of not feeling quite right. Almost exactly 20 years prior my father also passed away unexpectedly. Here one day. Then gone.
The oldest child graduated from high school and is off at college. We enjoyed a backyard celebration with many of our favorite people ranging in ages 3 to 92, coming from as far away as Germany to our next door neighbors. Sounds like a Christmas carol. My husband and I enjoyed creating the space to bring people together joyfully.
This is all life. The mundane and the big events, with the common thread of keeping things organized. Moving forward, I hope to come to you more frequently, but I cannot make any promises. Life happens after all.
If you have organizing challenges that you need help with, please feel free to reach out with questions. And, if you would like one on one assistance, I am working with clients remotely these days, anywhere in the world. The work of decluttering and organizing is not just about the stuff: it’s an inside game of facing our delayed decisions and our mindset.
As we move into the end of 2025, I wish you peace, happiness and organization!
All my best,
Carolyn
